"Don't Stand So Close to Me "Written By: Emerald Pillow Warnings: Yaoi; Language; Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing. I'm just
having a little fun playing with the characters. You can try to sue
me but all I have worth taking is my cat who is named Duo, but looks
like Trowa. Rating: NC 17 Pairing: Don't Stand So Close to Me. Part 1 "A 'C-'?" Quatre looked over at his braided friend in confusion. "There has to be a mistake." Duo sighed and folded his arms on the table. "Yeah, the mistake is even taking the class in the first place." The American huffed and buried his face in his arms. "That guy hates me." "There has to be another reason.." Quatre objected as he handed the graded work to Heero. The Japanese student read through the papers. "He has to. . .why else would he give me such a poor grade. I studied with Heero for Pete's sake." "Last minute cramming isn't considered studying." Wu Fei chided and leaned back in his chair. "Hey! It's studying for me. I do my best under pressure." "If that were true, why'd you get a 'C'?" "I told you, that professor hates me. . .that's why." "You're just slacking." "Wu Fei that's not fair to Duo." Quatre jumped to his friend's defense. "If what you say is true, then why is he doing so well in all the other classes?" "Because the other classes are easy classes. This one requires logical thinking. . .not one of your strong points Maxwell." "I can think logically." "Yeah, but only you understand your logic. You'll never be able to pass Hino." "You just watch me loudmouth!" Duo snapped and jumped to his feet. "I'll prove to you that I'm just as smart as any of you." Wu Fei snickered and closed his eyes. "Like that'll ever happen." "You want to put a bet on that?" "Sure. I'll bet you. . ." Wu Fei sat up straight and narrowed his coal eyes. "If you pass this class with at least a 'B', I'll buy your lunch for an entire month. . .and on top of that. . .I'll be your slave for a week." "My slave?" Wu Fei nodded. "Meaning you'll do anything I want?" "Anything." "So if I want you to wear a pink tutu all week, you'll do that?" "I'll even pirouette if you get a 'B' in this class." "You're on!" They shook hands and Duo looked down at his three friends. "You guys are my witnesses." "It'll never happen. With your current rate, you would be lucky to get a 'C'." "Just you wait. I'll pass that class." With new determination, Duo ran from the group. "Where are you going?" Quatre called after his friend. "To study." Duo called back. "Never thought I'd hear him say that." Wu Fei returned to his outline. "Think he'll do it?" Quatre wondered aloud, still staring after Duo. "Probably." The blonde looked up at the Chinese friend. "You believe he can?" The answer was a simple nod. "Then why did you place that bet?" "Motivation. If Maxwell puts his mind to it, he can do anything. . .he just needs the proper motivation." "Maybe he won't." Heero said suddenly. "Why? Don't you have fate in him?" "I do, but he might be right about Prof. Hino." "Why's that?" The statement even caught Trowa's attention. "It's a little drawn out and elaborate, but most of Duo's answers are the same as mine." No one needed to ask what grade Heero got. "Maybe Hino caught wind of Maxwell's reputation as a joker and is grading him more harshly. Some people think that that method works best with people like him." Wu Fei offered and waited for a reaction. "Doubtful. You're right when you said that all of the other classes are easy. That's why he plays around in them. . .however, I've seen him in this class. I know he's giving a lot more effort. . .he's taking this class seriously." "Then perhaps Duo should make an appointment with the dean." Trowa entered and returned his attention to his reading. "If what you say is true, then it's possible that this professor wants more from Duo than just effort." "This is harder than I thought." Duo whined and stared at his textbook. Studying with Heero was so much easier. The colbat eye boy usually did all the boring reading and then summarized the material during the study session. It wasn't that Duo didn't want to read, it was just that his mind was constantly roaming. Especially to the thought of Wu Fei walking around campus in a pink tutu. Just the mental image brought forth bouts of laughter. His desire to make the ideal a reality fueled him to continue reading. . .but that didn't last long as there was a knock on the dorm room door. Duo looked up in time to see Quatre enter the room. The blonde was holding some papers in his hand. "Hey Q, what's up?" "I think you should look at this." Quatre answered and sat next to his friend. "Heero looked over your test. He says that the two of you share nearly the same answers, so you should have gotten a higher score than what you did." A grin pulled at Duo's lips as he looked over Heero's exam. The answers were remarkably close to one another. "Do you know what this means?" "It means that Hino might have hidden alternatives." "That too, but it also means that we get to see Wu Fei in a pink tutu." "Duo, I think you're missing the point here." Quatre suggested and pulled the tests from his friend to get his attention. "I know what you're saying Q. I'll have a talk with him tomorrow. I'm sure once he realizes that someone is on to him, that he'll stop and give me the grade I rightly deserve." Duo closed his text book and stood. He stretched a minute before looking over at Quatre. "And since I don't have to do this boring reading any more, we can go for some ice cream." "Duo, don't you think you should do your assignment." "I've already read ten pages. I deserve a reward
for being so dedicated. Come on, my treat." Quatre shrugged and
stood. There were times when no one could argue with Duo to do something
he didn't want to. Obviously, he didn't want to do his assignment,
so there was no use in trying to make him.
